About Campingvista
Campingvista grew out of a simple frustration. During our holidays I increasingly noticed that useful information was scattered everywhere. It was fragmented, poorly organised or hidden between commercial stories and endless amounts of content.
What I really wanted was just one thing: a clear overview of the information that matters to our family at that moment.
Because when we are on the road, we want to experience the adventure. Not spend endless time scrolling, swiping and searching on our phones.
From a campsite overview to something more useful
Originally, Campingvista was mainly going to be an overview of campsites we had visited ourselves, supplemented with sights and activities in the surrounding area.
But I soon realised that I was mainly building something others already make: lots of beautiful images and enthusiastic stories, but not always the concrete information that actually helps us during our family trips.
So Campingvista got a different starting point.
Not a collection of everything that can be found, but a selection of practical and well-organised information about subjects, regions and places that interest us and that we enjoy visiting regularly.
Why not just use AI?
We live in a world where AI can help us look up almost anything. In practice, however, many fellow adventurers do not always know where to start, which questions to ask or which information is reliable and relevant.
That is exactly why accessible and up-to-date overviews remain valuable. They give you a starting point, help you choose faster and reduce the time you spend on your phone instead of enjoying your surroundings.
A deliberate selection
Campingvista does not aim to be complete and it is not intended to become a traditional travel platform. The website contains a growing selection of overviews on different subjects and locations.
The emphasis is on areas that attract us as a family and places we know ourselves or enjoy travelling to. That keeps the information personal, recognisable and practical.
No commercial fuss. No endless pages. Just information you can actually use.
Keep searching
Under the motto Keep searching, we continue looking for special places, beautiful routes, useful information and new adventures.
In the future, Campingvista will be expanded with other subjects and perhaps new regions as well. Maybe even at the request of visitors. Time will tell.
One thing remains essential: Campingvista must stay simple and practical. Maintaining the website should not become a full-time job, because in the end the website is not what matters.
What matters is being outside, being on the road and making new memories together.
